СПІЛЬНИЙ ЗВІТ ПРЕЗИДЕНТА ТА ГОЛОВИ ДИРЕКЦІЇ

Ми раді вітати вас на Річних Зборах 2024 року та повідомити про ще один міцний та процвітаючий рік для нашої установи. Незважаючи на значні економічні негаразди, Федеральна Кредитова Кооператива СУМА знову досягла високих результатів за рік, що закінчився у 2023 році. Виклик високої інфляції, який наші члени відчувають на собі у вигляді подорожчання бензину та продуктів харчування, змусив Федеральну Резервну Систему США 11 разів підвищувати відсоткові ставки у період з березня 2022 року по липень 2023 року. Сподівання на м'яку посадку сповільнили зниження процентних ставок до попередніх рівнів. Незважаючи на складні економічні перспективи, СУМА продовжує зосереджуватися на потребах наших членів та швидких інноваціях у фінансовій галузі, щоб підтримувати безпечну, стабільну та добре капіталізовану установу, і продовжуватиме пропонувати нашим членам заощадження та кредитні ставки, які перевершують переважну більшість наших кредитних спілок-аналогів.

Будучи лідером у сфері банківських технологій серед українсько-американських кредитних кооператив, СУМА продовжує йти в ногу з інноваціями. Ось деякі з удосконалень, які СУМА впровадила протягом останнього року:
Оновлення функції цифрового банкінгу «Member-to-Member» з можливістю збереження інформації про одержувача для подальшого використання та планування періодичних переказів
Впровадження системи нового типу для переказів у режимі реального часу - FedNOW
Покращення безпеки електронної пошти
Оновлення Money Manager у нашому цифровому банкінгу з можливістю додавання зовнішніх рахунків для перегляду їх балансів та історії транзакцій
Оновлення сповіщень про покупки кредитними картками у мобільному додатку SUMA FCU
Автоматизація управління лімітами мобільних депозитів
Переміщення нашої системи зберігання документів у високозахищений хмарний сервіс

Дивлячись у майбутнє, наша кредитна кооператива продовжуватиме розширювати спектр послуг, щоб задовольнити потреби нинішніх та майбутніх членів, а також підтримувати благодійні організації та гуманітарні потреби нашої громади у міру їх виникнення.

Здорова фінансова установа повинна розвиватися у межах громад яким вона прагне служити, і тому ми особливо раді, що до статуту СУМА приєдналися парафіяни Української католицької церкви Св. Петра і Павла (Спрінг-Веллі, штат Нью-Йорк) та Українського Католицького Собору Св. Володимира (Стемфорд, штат Коннектикут). Крім того, найважливішою ініціативою СУМА у 2024 році стане відкриття у квітні двох нових філій у Флориді - у Норт-Порті та Ст-Петербурзі. Це розширення є інвестицією у майбутнє СУМА і включатиме надання основних фінансових послуг для нещодавно переселених осіб та сімей з охопленої війною України. Девіз кредитної спілки «люди допомагають людям» як ніколи актуальний.

Ми також з гордістю відзначаємо, що 2024 рік знаменує собою надзвичайні події. По-перше, наша кооператива святкує своє 60-річчя. Нам надзвичайно приємно, що один із наших засновників, колишній Президент-Генеральний Директор та Почесний Голова Володимир Козіцький і досі бере активну участь у діяльності СУМА. Цього року пан Козицький досягне своєї власної особливої віхи і відсвяткує своє 100-річчя. Від імені всіх співробітників та членів нашої кредитної кооперативи - вітаємо пана Володимира з днем народження та бажаємо міцного здоров'я та процвітання - Многая літа! Крім того, СУМА також рада привітати нашого операційного директора Ігоря Макаренка із 40-річчям та нашого менеджера/кредитного спеціаліста Христину Дідик-Скальську з 35-річчям безперервної роботи у нашій кредитній кооперативі. Ми також висловлюємо наші найкращі побажання Ігорю та Христині з приводу цього заслуженого визнання. Ми також повинні з сумом відзначити смерть нашого багаторічного керівника філії у Спрінг-Веллі, Юлії Шозди, якої нам дуже не вистачає і яку ми завжди будемо пам'ятати у наших серцях. Вічна пам'ять.

Також на сумній ноті, у лютому цього року українсько-американська діаспора урочисто відзначила другу річницю повномасштабної війни росії проти України. Ця жорстока війна залишається болючим джерелом тривоги для наших членів та всіх українців. Чоловіки та жінки українських Збройних Сил та народ України продовжують надихати світ своєю рішучістю та відвагою у героїчному захисті своєї нації, своєї землі та наших спільних цінностей. Ми вшановуємо пам'ять загиблих і висловлюємо жаль з приводу трагічних людських страждань і руйнувань, спричинених незаконною, невиправданою і неспровокованою війною росії. З початку війни у 2022 році СУМА продовжує надсилати грошові перекази в Україну безкоштовно, і за цей період понад 5 мільйонів доларів США вже було переказано сім'ям та на гуманітарні потреби в Україні від наших індивідуальних членів та організацій-членів.

На завершення, як завжди, ми ще раз висловлюємо подяку нашим співробітникам, керівництву та правлінню за їхній професіоналізм у служінні нашим членам, нашій громаді та Україні. Ми також дякуємо нашим членам за вашу постійну довіру та впевненість і сподіваємося на подальше зростання нашої організації на благо нашої громади.

JOINT REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT and CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2024 Annual Meeting and to report another solid and prosperous year for our institution. Despite considerable economic headwinds, SUMA Federal Credit Union again produced robust results for the year ending 2023. The challenge of high inflation which our members experience as higher costs at the gas pump and grocery store, triggered the US Federal Reserve to raise interest rates 11 times in the period of March 2022 to July 2023. Hopes for a soft landing, has slowed the lowering of interest rates to prior levels. Notwithstanding the challenging economic outlook, SUMA continues to focus on the needs of our members and the rapid innovations in the financial industry in order to maintain a safe, stable and well capitalized institution, and will continue to offer our members savings and loan rates and products which outperform the vast majority of our peer credit unions.

As the leader in banking technology among Ukrainian-American credit unions, SUMA continues to keep pace with innovation. Some of the improvements SUMA has implemented over the last year included:
Upgrading the digital banking Member-to-Member feature with ability to save recipient's information for future use and scheduling of recurring transfers
Implementation of new, real-time transfers - FedNOW
Upgrading email security
Upgrading Money Manager in our digital banking with ability to add external accounts to view balances and transaction history
Upgrading credit card purchase alerts in the SUMA FCU mobile app
Automating remote deposit velocity limits management
Moving our document storage system to a highly secure cloud

As SUMA looks to the future, our credit union will continue expansion of services to meet the needs of current and future members as well as to support our community’s charitable organizations and humanitarian needs as they arise.

A healthy financial institution needs to grow within the communities it seeks to serve, and so we are especially pleased to have added the parishioners of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church (Spring Valley, NY) and St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral (Stamford, CT) to SUMA's charter for membership. Moreover, the most important initiative for SUMA in 2024 will be the opening in the month of April two new branches in Florida, one in North Port and the other in St Petersburg. These expansions are an investment in SUMA’s future and will include essential financial services for many recently resettled individuals and families from war torn Ukraine. The credit union motto of “people helping people” has never been more relevant.

We are also proud to note that 2024 marks an extraordinary year of milestones. Firstly, our credit union celebrates its 60th anniversary. We are extremely pleased that one of our founders, former President-CEO, and Honorary Chairman, Volodymyr Kozicky is still a vibrant contributor to SUMA operations. This year Mr. Kozicky will reach his own special milestone and celebrate his 100th birthday. On behalf of all the employees and members of our credit union – we wish Pan Volodymyr a very happy birthday and continued good health and prosperity – Mnohaya Lita! Additionally, SUMA is also pleased to congratulate our Chief Operating Officer, Ihor Makarenko on 40 years and our Manager/Loan Officer Kristine Didyk-Skalski on 35 years of continuous service with our credit union. Likewise, we extend our best wishes to Ihor and Kristine on this well-earned recognition. We must also, however, sadly note the passing of the long-term Manager of our Spring Valley Branch, Julie Szozda, who we truly miss and will always remember in our hearts. Vichnaya Pamyat.

Also on a sad note, in February of this year, the Ukrainian-American diaspora solemnly marked the second anniversary of the Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. This brutal war remains a painful source of anxiety for our members and all Ukrainians. The men and women of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the people of Ukraine continue to inspire the world with their resolve and bravery in the heroic defense of their nation, their land, and our shared values. We pay tribute to the lives lost and we deplore the tragic human suffering and destruction caused by Russia’s illegal, unjustifiable, and unprovoked war. Since the inception of the war in 2022, SUMA has continued to send wire transfers to Ukraine without charge and over that period more than $5 million has already been wired to families and for humanitarian needs in Ukraine from our individual and member organizations.

In closing, as always, we again express gratitude to our staff, our managers, and our board for their professionalism in service to our membership, to our community and to Ukraine. We also thank our members for your continued trust and confidence and look forward to the further growth of our institution for the betterment of our community.

Щоб пришвидшити процес розгляду кредиту та покращити обслуговування членів, автокредити та кредити під заставу звичайних заощаджень, до 100,000.00 доларів США, розглядаються відповідно до окремих процедур і більше не підлягають затвердженню кредитним комітетом.

У 2023 році загальна сума позик становила 264, на загальну суму 52,256,925.25 доларів США. Важливо зазначити, що з 2022 року обсяг автокредитів зріс на 30%.

REPORT OF THE CREDIT COMMITTEE
Members of the 2023 Credit Committee were:

Meetings were held weekly and as needed and applications were reviewed, then approved or rejected based on the financial profile and credit history of the applicant. The Committee conducted its business in an objective atmosphere and all members took an active role in the review of each application.

To expedite the loan review process and improve member service, auto loans and share loans under $100,000.00 are reviewed under separate procedures and are no longer subject to credit committee approval.

For the year 2023, total loan originations were 264 loans for a total of $52,256.25. The breakdown of loans are as follows. Important to note that auto loans increased 30% in volume from 2022.

Report of the Supervisory Committee

ЗВІТ КОНТРОЛЬНОЇ КОМІСІЇ

Контрольна Комісія активно виконувала свої функції протягом звітного періоду, здійснюючи необхідні аудиторські завдання по пе-ревірці діяльності кредитної спілки та її філій. Співпрацюючи з внутрішнім аудитором, ми здійснили перегляд процедур та політики кредитної спілки, їх відповідність нормам Закону про Секретність Банківської Ін-формації (Bank Secrecy Act), а також перевірку процедур по боротьбі з відмиванням грошей.

Контрольна Комісія проводила спільні зустрічі з нашою сертифі-кованою бухгалтерсько-аудиторською (СРА) фірмою Clifton Larson Allen та федеральними аудиторами.

Згідно з нашими звітними документами, а також аудиторськими висновками Clifton Larson Allen та федеральних аудиторів, керівництво Федеральної Кредитової Кооперативи СУМА в Йонкерсі виконало свої зо-бов’язання у повній мірі та у відповідності з правилами та нормами, встановленими Національною Адміністрацією Кредитних Спілок (NCUA).

Висловлюємо нашу найщирішу подяку всьому персоналу нашої кредитівки за допомогу та безвідмовну співпрацю під час аудиторських перевірок.

REPORT OF THE SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE

The Supervisory Committee was active during the reporting period and performing selected auditing procedures for the credit union and its branches.

Working with the internal auditor, we reviewed the policy and procedures of the credit union, compliance with Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.

The Supervisory Committee had meetings with our CPA audit firm, Clifton Larson Allen, and with the Federal examiners.

Based on our reviews, along with the audits of Clifton Larson Allen and the Federal examiners, the management of SUMA Federal Credit Union has fulfilled its responsibilities properly and in accordance with the rules and regulations established by the National Credit Union Administration.

Our sincerest thanks to all personnel of our credit union for their help and complete cooperation connected with the audits.
